Aberdeen & Portlethen Rope Rescue Team new members requirements.

We cover an area from Muchalls to Balmedie

Hold a clean driving licence (no sticky marks) and have transport.
Team members must have a sense of humour.
Must be able to take orders from a SO and DSO (see here for what this really means)
Must be able to work as a team
Must be able to get along with the team (it's not the same honest)
Must live & work locally, preferable but this will depend on locations. (be available to attend a call in the local area)
Must be available for callouts at all times of day and night see call out lists for details, again preferable.
Must be able to work at heights (cliff work), but may not need to go over the side.
Must be able to search for hours on end if someone goes missing or when we lose something. Never happens ;)
Must not be scared of the dark! see times as above
Must be able to take abuse from team see the getting along bit above
Must make good tea and coffee till someone else replaces you in the pecking order ;)
Must be able to jump tall buildings in a single bound (no trampolines permitted)
Must not expect to be paid a fortune, this is not a full time occupation, all of us do it for enjoyment. Honest!
Must like chomp bars. Team Members can be bribed easily then ;)
We accept members aged 16 to 600. If you are fit and have your marbles. Spare marbles are available for a fee ;)

If you require peanuts please try for an ops room position ;)

Note After a recent pay increase ops staff are now paid in Brazil Nuts, due to lack of a pay increase its back to peanuts

After the initial phase members progress to Fully Authorized Rescue Technician'S

Members with the most experience progress to the level of Old Fully Authorized Rescue Technician'S
